Hello and welcome one and all!
A special welcome to anyone who is reading this on the ‘Our Bodies’ app that we released last week – you’ll be the first to be able to stream b-sides and remixes from the new single over the next few weeks. If you haven’t got the app for your smartphone yet, then head on over to www.songpier.com/agenuinefreakshow to download it now… for free!
A huge thank you to everyone who came to see us at Reading, Leeds or Solfest last weekend. I can safely say it was the best time we’ve had as a band in a fair while. Packed crowds at both Reading and Leeds, ‘Our Bodies’ broadcast on BBC Three on Friday evening, our new song ‘Claw and Grasp’ on the red button, and all rounded off nicely at the picturesque Solfest in rural Cumbria – it was all fairly life-affirming.
This weekend we do it all again as we play at The Old Firestation in Bournemouth tonight (Friday) for Musicosity, the intriguingly named Doghouse Goes to Paris Gates on Saturday in Halifax before heading down to LodeStar in Cambridge for Sunday afternoon.
Next week head to the historic Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, to continue writing and working on the new songs from our sessions in Devon earlier this year. We’ll be tweeting and posting pictures (and hopefully the odd video or two) of our progress, so watch out for those.
We’ll then head out for a large handful of shows throughout September and October before our last show in 2011 at South Street Arts Centre in Reading on 11th November. Most shows are now listed on our website and the app, pretty much all of which you can buy tickets for directly from us for a tiny 40p charge and avoid the big booking fees other vendors will inevitably charge. If you have enjoyed us for the first time at a festival we’d love you to come and try one of our full-length live shows.
Finally, there are loads of different links all over the place to the Reading Festival TV coverage, but in case you’ve missed them, you can watch the last 3 songs from our set on YouTube, or get video and photos from the BBC Reading and Leeds website.
A big thank you to everyone for your support, especially over the last few weeks – we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone again on tour!
